History

In 1934 Laurens Hammond has been granted a patent for the “packing box Prototype” in Washington, D.C. None other than Henry Ford gave shortly after the order for six organs. Further prominent early buyers were George Gershwin and Count Basie. In the course of time, the Hammond organ, especially the perfect symbiosis with a Leslie loudspeaker system, set a benchmark in the history of music.
